I wanted to write something, even though I've got nothing particular in mind. So I guess I'll just dump whatever my brain comes up with.

Lately life has been good. And since most of my life hasn't been particularly happy (there has been happy moments but generally it's just been... haze. Living life without truly living it), I recognize that my brain is kinda expecting something shitty to happen sooner or later. But that's alright. Time will pass regardless if you enjoy it or not. So breathe deep and try to get the most of it.

"As long as you see time as something to be Spent Well or Wasted, you are trapped in continual self-evaluations of your time. You are scoring your minutes and hours and days and levying judgements on them, with that quiet hum of assessment always running in the background."
– from This Moment is Your Life

--

I've also been getting into hacking recently. It's fun. It's way more fun to break stuff than to build stuff. I'm still a noob, but my background in programming and just generally being a huge nerd certainly helps. It's exciting to jump into a new area where there's so much to learn you can never learn it all. Feels the same when I first started to learn programming.

--

Have a great day, and remember, ur awsom ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

Circular: Thinking, planning, talking, researching, reading but never doing anything concrete.

ZigZag: Getting excited, starting stuff, then getting excited about something else before finishing the first one. Constantly starting projects but never finishing them.

Straight: Thinks what's the fastest and easiest ways to get from point A to point B, and acts on it.

2024-03-12T05:57:38.797472+00:00https://hanki.dev/time-is-an-illusion/time is an illusion2024-03-07T06:36:50.766460+00:00hankihidden
If you're really having fun, enjoying the moment you don't really think about the time. It just flies by.

Time is an illusion.

Your best moments are over before you notice it.

Because those moments are rare, we cling to them, we think that maybe we won't achieve that kind of presence anymore.

That's also an illusion.

Be grateful of the time you had and move on. Those memories will always live in you.

Life has good moments, life has bad moments. That's fine. The more you're able to live in the moment the more alive you feel.

It's easier to live in the moment when it's a good moment. When it's a bad moment we try to escape it.

Don't stress about whether your time is spent well or bad.

When you think about if something is worth your time you cease to enjoy the moment.

Think about a really happy memory where time really just flew by. It was a moment where you had so much fun, you didn't stop for a second to think about if this is what you should be doing. You just enjoyed the moment.

That's what living in the moment means, there's no extra stuff in your head, just the current moment.

Simple, everyday mundane things can be such joyous if you're able to shut off that part of your brain which is always evaluating, always running from death.

Time just passes by, you can't spend it "correctly"

So enjoy the moment, whether it's conquering a mountain or doing dishes.

--

“Mountains should be climbed with as little effort as possible and without desire. The reality of your own nature should determine the speed. If you become restless, speed up. If you become winded, slow down. You climb the mountain in an equilibrium between restlessness and exhaustion. Then, when you're no longer thinking ahead, each footstep isn't just a means to an end but a unique event in itself....To live only for some future goal is shallow. It's the sides of the mountains which sustain life, not the top.”
People I haven't seen in years, people I'm not planning to see ever again. In some way, having their number kinda doesn't matter. But if I accidentally see an old contact I immediately delete it. I don't know, something about having old contacts in my phone annoys me. Those people are no longer in my life. Those are ghosts from the pasts. I don't like having ghosts in my life.

Personal development: are you on a path of personal development, are you doing things to develop yourself?

Direction in life: do you have inspiration, do you have goal or direction you are marching towards in life?

Autonomy: do you feel like you have control over your time?

Environmental mastery: is the physical space you live in (your city, your house) conducive to you doing all the things that you want to do in life?

Relationships: do you have strong relationship with other people? Romantically or platonically, do you feel like you have connections? Do you have friends?

Self acceptance: knowing the demons inside you, and being okay with them. It's accepting that I'm good, I have also have some bad, and I accept my bad.

If you are working towards all those six dimensions, you will reach self-actualization.
